From the Ground Up 2.19

A few days later, the girls went to Magnolia for a shopping trip…

and the guys all stayed home to play video games. I’ll have Riley write about the shopping trip.

Riley:

The first place we took Catia was a bridal shop of course. Cerena and I couldn’t wait to help her try on dresses!

Cerena and I chatted while we waited for Catia to come out of the dressing room.

“Don’t you dare even think about getting me into one of these dresses!” Cerena said. “I’m just not that type!”

“I respect that, but you never know what life might throw at you. I mean, look at Cat… did you think she’d be getting married now?” I asked. Just then, the dressing room door opened.

“Ta-da!” said Catia. “What do you think?”

“Hmm,” I said, “I’m not sure about this one. Maybe try some others before you decide?”

“I thought I was going to love this one, but once I got it on… I kind of hate it!” Catia said.

I kind of breathed a sigh of relief because I didn’t like it very much either.

“How about this one?” Catia asked as she came out of the dressing room again.

“Eehhhh-” I started to say, when Cerena interrupted me.

“Oh, it’s terrible!” she said. “Sorry sis, but I just can’t see you get married in that!”

Catia looked relieved. “Thanks, sis!” she said, as she walked back to try on another dress.

She tried on a few others, but nothing seemed to be right. We finally got to the point where she wanted to try on one more dress, but we had an appointment at the bakery to get to. She took a little longer in the dressing room this time.

“Cat? You doing ok in there?” I asked.

“Perfect!” she said, “I’ll be right out!”

“OH-EM-GEEE, Catty!!!” squealed Cerena, “It’s PERFECT!”  I decided to wait a moment and see what Catia thought of the dress.

“I’m glad you think so, because I think this is the one!” she said, smiling.

“I really think it fits your personality, and it’s beautiful!” I told her. “Now let’s get out of here. We don’t want to miss our appointment!”

After making arrangements to pick up the dress later, we headed over to the bakery to pick out a cake.

“Looks like we came to the right place!” Catia said. “It’s so crowded. Must be pretty good!”

It didn’t Catia long to pick out which cake she liked best.

It’s really pretty, and tasted amazing!

After the bakery, we headed over to my favorite restaurant, The Waterside.

They seated us outside on the terrace, and we looked over the menu. I don’t know why I always look at the menu, even when I know what I’m going to order.

The waiter came and took our order, and then we sat and chatted about our day.

“Oh, that one was horrible!” Cerena said, as she made a face. We all laughed.

Just then, Aunt Nina walked past our table. I jumped up and hugged her.

“It’s so good to see you!” she said. “What are you girls up to today?”

“Wedding shopping!” I said with a grin.

“Alright,” she said, “spill all the juicy details! Who is getting married, and to whom? Is he cute?”

“I am!” said Catia, and she blushed.

“And he’s adorable!” said Cerena.

“Just be sure I get an invite.. you know how your Aunt Nina loves her dancing!” laughed Nina, as she walked back towards her table.

A few moments later, the waiter came out with our food.

And of course, forever the blogger, Catia had to take a picture of her plate.

Since we were all starting to feel a little worn out, it didn’t take us long to finish our meal and head home. It was really a full and exciting day!
